The short version. There are no ads, no analytics, no trackers, and nothing is ever sold or shared for marketing. The app collects what it needs to plan your meals, and nothing else.
Our Family Table is a meal-planning app built by an independent developer. This policy explains what the app stores, what leaves your device, and what it never does.
Your account. Your email address and password, handled by Google Firebase Authentication. Passwords are stored by Firebase in hashed form — we never see or store a readable password. You also choose a username, which is shown to people in your family.
What you create. Recipes, meal plans, grocery lists, saved lists, pantry items, store and brand preferences, and any photos you add. This is stored in Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore) on servers in the United States.
Chef preferences and memory. The AI Chef keeps short notes about your cooking — foods you avoid, how many nights you usually cook, preferences it picks up over time. You can read every one of these and delete any of them under Chef › Preferences › Memory. A fact you delete is not learned again.
Household membership. If you join a family, everyone in it shares one calendar: your meal plans and recipes become visible to the other members, and theirs to you. Only you can add, change or delete your own meals. Leaving the family ends that access.
AI Chef conversations. Messages you send the Chef go to our server (Cloudflare Workers) and on to Anthropic's Claude API, which generates the reply. Your conversations are not used to train any model.
Purchases. Subscriptions are processed by Apple, and RevenueCat tells the app what you are entitled to. We never see your payment details — no card numbers reach us at any point.
Recipe imports. When you import a recipe from a link, your device fetches that page itself. The address is sent to our server to help pull the recipe out of it.
Speech. If you talk to the Chef instead of typing, iOS converts your speech to text using Apple's speech recognition, which is Apple's system and covered by Apple's privacy policy.
Photos. Only the photos you pick. The app never browses your library on its own.
Open Settings › Delete Account. This removes your account and the content stored with it — recipes, meal plans, grocery lists, preferences, and Chef memory. It is immediate and permanent.
Cancel your subscription in the App Store first: deleting your account does not cancel Apple billing.
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. After you delete your account, provider backups and server logs may retain copies for a limited period before being overwritten in the normal course of business.
Data travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and is stored using our providers' security controls. Access to your content is limited to your own account and the household members you invite. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can view and edit most of your information directly in the app, and remove all of it using Delete Account. For anything else, contact us using the details below.
Our Family Table is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
